Umbria: perhaps for the magic view, perhaps for the enchanted atmosphere at all points, but it’s normal to think that it’s not an accident if Saint Francesco was born here.

In this area, nature is ever green, glad and awesome. In these cities it’s impossible to define the old town center, because in every part of the region there are a countless number of monuments and memorials.
For example, Perugia, the region’s capital: This city is very rich of beautiful architectural monuments, ancient buildings and art treasures. There are the Etruscan walls, the superb Gallenga Palace, and a lot of architectural jewels placed in everywhere, as Piazza IV Novembre, Fontana Maggiore, Palazzo dei Priori, ecc.
The same for Gubbio, rich of Franciscan memories, medievil monuments and palaces of the renaissance. Or Todi, Bevagna, Spello, Spoleto, Orvieto, Città di Castello and a lot of others little villages.
Terni is a modern industrial city, with wonderful churches as S. Salvatore or S. Francesco and, in proximity, the matchless Marmore waterfall, a real natural masterpiece.
At least, there is Assisi, the native city of San Francesco (and of Santa Chiara, the founder of the Clarisse order. Assisi is the most famous destination for pilgrims and religious believers. I’s impossible don’t visit this place.
