THE REGION: The splendid Friuli-Venezia-Julia is a region with cities rich of art and history, the wonderful mountains and beautiful beaches. The region can be devided in two parts: a mountainous area to the north and the adriatic coast to the south with famous seaside resorts like Lignano Sabbiadoro and Grado and in the middle of the wonderful Pre-Alps, underlined from typical small villages.

TRIESTE

UDINE
The town of Udine has an ancient tie with the art, begun centuries ago when in the city the nobler and institutional rich palaces were built, where still today you can finde precious works, like the frescoes of Tiepolo in the Archiepiscopal Palace. But Udine is also the city where the art embraces every époque: you will find masterpieces of Caravaggio in the Gallery of Ancient Art, as well as works of Modigliani and Sironi in the Gallery of Modern Art. In Villa Manin, extraordinary complex built beginning with 1650 a few kilometers from the city, to Passariano, waits for you the new Center of Contemporary Art, that has inaugurated its activity in 2004. And even the former church of Saint Francisco, between the most ancient buildings in Udine right in the center, has been transformed in a splendid space for exthibitions and installations. Art to admire and art of living: Udine is also this, a delicious city to man measure where it is beautiful to let go, to loiter while the thoughts slide away ..... discovering to every angle a magnificent palace, an ancient dwelling, a romantic end… when you are here, we advise you not to lack a visit in the historical coffees and, above all, in one of the many taverns for a tajut, the traditional glass of Tocai!
AQUILEIA (UD)
Aquileia is one of the places of greater interest of the entire region, as far as for archaeology and the history of art. One visit here can be articulated in various organic distances that follow the development of the city in chronological sense; but it convene, first of all, in order to enter in the spirit of the city, to visit its National Archaeological Museum. Splendid the patriarchal Basilica where it has been found the most ancient archaeological report where it rises, that imeans the pavements of a roman house of the Augustan age, one of whose rooms must have been transformed from the owner in place of public cult.
GRADO(GO)
The City of Grado, call also “Island of Gold” for the golden arena, represents one of the most fascinating and evocative tourist localities of the Adriatic: the splendid beaches, the blue sea, the lagoon, the thermal baths, the hotels, the villages, the residence, the restaurants, the marine, the nautical, the eno-gastronomic routes, the rich program of manifestations, the local traditions, the colorful “calluses” of the historical center, the ancient paleocristian Basilica, make of Grado an unique goal in the Italian panorama of the tourist places. The City is situated in the southern part of the province of Gorizia on an island between the lagoon of Grado and the Adriatic Sea. The lived area, connected to the mainland from a long artificial dam, includes a colorful ancient nucleus of lagoon, around which there develops the more recent quarters. Above all during the summer period, but also during the year, Grado accommodates a rich program of manifestations of various entity (tourist, cultural, sport and entertainment).
LIGNANO SABBIADORO (UD)
Lignano Sabbiadoro rises on one peninsula designed from the outlet of the Tagliamento river and from the ancient webbing of the currents of the Adriatic, between the open sea and the Lagoon of Marano, in the more northern arc of the Golf of Venice. Eight kilometers from the most fine sand face the sea and the luxuriant pine-forest that covers partially the peninsula. Well known tourist resort, Lignano is equipped in order to satisfy whichever requirement of vacation: the hotels, the villages, the residence, the restaurants, navy, without to forget the many amusement and entertainment premises .
