CASERTA
The origins of Caserta are still uncertain: for some it was founded from the Sanniti, for others from the Romans. The most diffused thesis say that the Longobardi di Capua to conquest it in the XIII century. In the Middle Ages, the city passed under the dominion of the Capua. But it is in 1800,when finished the Royal Palace which becames a real jewel of the city, that Caserta assumed a particular importance.
The Borbonian Palace of the city of Caserta is a fundamental stage of the routes of art. It was built from 1752 to 1774 and it has the Vanvitelliano Museum and the royal apartments. The Reggia of Caserta was planned from the architect Luigi Vanvitelli, charged from Carl III of Borbone. In the intentions of Vanvitelli, the Park of the Reggia must have the same importance of the Palace. The architect planned therefore a tree-lined avenue, that from the Reggia to the cascade measured three kilometers, flanked from holm-ok, with immense fields encircled from small wood, parterre and plants of several essences ,designed to squared flower-beds and water mirrors. The Reggia and the Park are between the beautifulst testimonies of the architecture of end seven hundred.
