The Basilicata, the ancient Lucania, is a region surrounded from two seas. Locality:

MATERA:
The city of Matera rises in a characteristic landscape, with cliffs to a deep ravine, under which flows the Gravina torrent. It is a city with many faces, of which the most known is shurely that one of the stones, that the Unesco has recognized like “patrimony of the humanity to hand on to the future generations”. The stones are dominated from the Cathedral, monument of the medieval period. The stones accommodate to their inside the evocative museum of the peasant civilization . IONIC COAST
The ionic coast , long 35 km ca., from Metaponto to Nova Sires introduces opposite characteristics to the triennian one. TIRRENIC COAST
The lucana tirrenic coast is comprised in a feature of approximately 30 km between the tip of the Crivi, little more to the north than Acquafredda, and the Beach “of to Gnola”, to south of the Sand bank of Castrocucco. Reaching from the Walnut valley, through Trecchina, suddenly the green landscape of prodigious forests dives themselves into the sea.
